6 Natural Remedies To Control Body Odour

Ever felt like your sweat has an unusually unpleasant odour? Do you often feel embarrassed and self-conscious because of the body odour? Body odour is a common issue that many individuals struggle with. It occurs when sweat and bacteria interact, typically in areas with a high concentration of sweat glands, such as the underarms, feet, and groin. The bacteria break down the sweat, producing compounds that create an unpleasant odour.

While perfumes and deodorants can come to your rescue, it’s better to use natural remedies to get rid of this issue forever. This article will shed light on the natural remedies one can use to control body odour.

Natural remedies to try at home

Body odour can aggravate during the summer months. Several factors are responsible for body odour including poor hygiene, medical conditions, hormonal changes, diet, and even genetics. Let’s quickly run through the natural remedies to try at home:

 Baking soda

Baking soda works wonders for body odour. Just mix water with baking soda to make a paste and apply it in the armpit area. This will reduce sweat secretion and balance acidity in sweat.

 Rock salt

If you don’t have much time to invest in self-care routines, rock salt is your go-to remedy. It’s simple and effective. Just drop a few rock salt crystals into the bathtub of lukewarm water and mix it well. Taking a bath in rock salt mixed water will keep body odour in control.

 Tomato juice

Squeeze some tomato juice and dip a cloth into it to apply on all areas that emit a bad odour. This closes the pores on the skin and prevents the secretion of sweat.

 Green Tea Bags

Soak the tea bags in warm water and press them on smelly areas of your body. Keep them on for 5 minutes and rinse it later. Green tea bags are rich in antioxidants and an effective cure for body odour.

 Rose water

Rose water has a pleasant fragrance and is the best thing to tackle body odour. Rose water reduces perspiration and should be used by mixing with apple cider vinegar for best results. Mix 3 tbsp of rose water with 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar and spray on body whenever required.

 Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is loaded with antibacterial properties and works effectively against body odour. You have to mix two teaspoons of tea tree oil with water and dab them on different parts of body. You can apply this daily to manage your body odour.

These are the natural remedies that will help you manage body odour easily. However, it's essential to remember that everyone's body is different. What works for one person may not work for another. If body odour persists despite trying these remedies, it may be a good idea to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying medical conditions.
